We are looking for highly self-motivated drivers to CONTRACT (Independent Contractor) for a busy non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) company in the Tampa, Brandon and Riverview areas.
Our company has been in the transportation industry for 60 years and our NEMT division (Wheelchair vans) are in need of more drivers. We will provide the training necessary to help you become versed in wheelchair securement and transport.
Here are the basics to become a driver for our company:
* Must be a minimum of 25 years old.
* Must have had a driver's license in the United States for at least 3 years.
* Must have a valid Florida driver's license.
* Must have a very good motor vehicle report (MVR).
* Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
* Must have reliable cell phone.
* Must be MOTIVATED and able to deal with pressure situations.
* Must have good knowledge of the Tampa, Brandon and Riverview areas
* Must be willing to commute to multiple counties (based primarily in Hillsborough County)
* Must have a valid PVDL (Public Vehicle Drivers License) license through Hillsborough County. You can apply for one if you do not currently have a PVDL license.
* You will be trained in Online Defensive Driving, CPR/FA/AED, and CTAA PASS training and Wheelchair securement. You will also receive on-road training and be required to pass a drug, alcohol and DOT physical.
This is an independent contractor position for full time, continued work. You pay a weekly lease fee. Please note: There are upfront costs associated with becoming a driver for our company.
